CAIRO – 27 January 2018: Real Madrid defeated Valencia 4-1 on Saturday at Mestalla stadium in the Spanish League.
Real Madrid players reconciled their fans after dropping out from the Spanish Cup due to the 2-1 defeat against Leganes.
Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid’s manager, depended on counter attacks by Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale to break the host's defense.
Ronaldo secured Real Madrid a 2-0 lead in the first half as he scored two penalties.
In the second half, Valencia dominated the game and Santi Mina scored after 15 minutes when he met a cross from the right flank with a stunning header.
Valencia attempted to equalize the score but a strike from Marcelo Vieira in 83rdminute turned the score into a 3-1 for the visitors.
Toni Kroos scored Real Madrid's fourth goal, a minute before the final whistle, after a beautiful combination with Mateo Kovačićto end the game 4-1.
Real Madrid reached 38 points in fourth position while Valencia stayed with 40 points in third position.
