CAIRO - 20 January 2018: Girona returned to Catalonia with a precious point from Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, as they ended their game against the hosts, Atletico Madrid, with a 1-1 draw on Saturday in the Spanish League.

The Spanish League’s second-placed team, Atletico Madrid, lost another two points in the title race, and the leaders, Barcelona, have the chance to lead the league with 11 points clear if they win their game against Real Betis on Sunday.

Barcelona’s neighbors, Girona, helped Barcelona a lot this season, achieving great results against Barca’s main opponents in the league.

Atletico Madrid lost four points in their two games against Girona, as the first game in Catalonia also ended with a draw.

Girona also defeated Real Madrid 2-1 at home, and they still have a game on March 18 in Madrid.

Despite Girona’s amazing results against the league giants, they lost easily at home to Barcelona 3-0.

Girona, after the draw, jumped to the seventh position with 27 points in their first participation in the Spanish League.
