CAIRO – 19 January 2018: FC Barcelona announced their agreement with Sergi Roberto to renew his contract until June 30, 2022. The release clause of his contract is now set at €500 million.

In a brief statement through their official website on Friday, Barcelona revealed that "The date and venue for his official contract signing event will be announced in the coming days."

The extension of Sergi Roberto’s contract is announced a day after the renewal of Gerard Piqué’s contract, one of Barcelona’s key players in the last decade, who will also stay at the club until June 30, 2022.

Leo Messi signed his new contract on November 25, 2017 with a release clause of €700 million.

The release clauses of Dembélé and Coutinho are €400 million each and Luis Suárez’s is €200 million.

Sergi Roberto has won several titles with FC Barcelona. The versatile player has been the winner of four La Liga titles, two Champions League titles, four Copa del Rey cups, four Spanish Supercopas, two European Supercups and two Club World Cup titles. He has made 178 appearances for Barça and scored 7 goals.
