CAIRO – 13 January 2018: Spanish manager Quique Sanchez Flores rejected an offer from Stoke City to succeed their sacked manager, Mark Hughes.
Flores’ commitment with his current team, Espanyol, prevented the Spaniard from accepting Stoke’s five-year contract.

“I belong to Espanyol. I have a contract and I'm honest with this club. I'm well, absolutely content with my situation,” Flores told Sky Sports on Saturday.

Flores was successful in the Premier League with Watford in 2016 and he managed to secure a mid-table position for the newly promoted club.

Rumors linked the Spanish manager with a move to Stoke City, which was declined by Samchez. He said, “I'm here and at no point have I said the opposite. It's the facts that matter and nothing else.”

Stoke City have sacked their Welsh manager, Mark Hughes, after poor results this season in the league. They are placed 18th after 22 fixtures.

Stoke City will play Manchester United on Monday at Old Trafford under their caretaker manager, Eddie Niedzwiecki.
