CAIRO – 11 January 2018: Ismaily manager, Abo Taleb el-Essawy revealed on Thursday that he is confident that his team will win the Egyptian League title this season.

“I was part of the Ismaily coaching staff when we won the Egyptian League in 2002 and I am feeling the same this year,“ Essawy told press on Thursday.

The last time Ismaily won the Egyptian League title was in 2002, in a tough match against Al-Ahly.

Ismaily had a great team at that time under their manager Mohsen Saleh. The team included many great players like Mohamed Barakat, Emad el-Nahas, Eslam el-Shater, Ahmed Fathi, Sayed Moawad and Mohamed Salah Abo Grisha.

Essawy added, “We have a clear goal; to win the league this season and win every game, whoever our opponent might be.”

Ismaily tops the Egyptian League table with 40 points, one point ahead of the second-placed, Al-Ahly which played one game less than Ismaily.
