CAIRO – 8 January 2018: On Monday, the Emirati club Al-Ain announced that they have reached an agreement with Misr el-Makasa to sign their attacking midfielder, Hussein el-Shahat, on a six month loan for $500,000.

Shahat will travel to the UAE soon and will be the second Egyptian player to wear the Al-Ain jersey after Hossam Hassan, who represented the club in 2000.

Shahat, 26, had been linked with a move to Al-Ahly this January, but he decided to join Al-Ain instead.

“I am so happy to join Al-Ain. It is one of the biggest clubs in Asia, and I am so happy to help my teammates to win titles for the club,” Shahat told Al-Ain’s official website on Monday.

Hussein had an amazing season with his club, scoring nine goals, including a goal during Misr el-Makasa’s 3-2 victory over Al-Ahly, and another goal in the team’s 3-1 victory over Zamalek.

Al-Ain is one of the biggest clubs in the UAE. The club has 12 titles in the domestic league and 6 titles in the UAE President's Cup. They are joint top of the UAE Arabian Gulf League, alongside Al-Wasl, with 25 points each.
