CAIRO – 5 January 2018: Egypt and Hector Cuper won 2017 CAF awards in the ceremony held on Thursday in Accra, Ghana.

Head of the Egyptian Football Association, Hany Abu Reida, was awarded the prize before all the representatives of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and African countries.

Hector Cuper, the Egyptian national team's coach, won the 2017 CAF Coach of the Year title while Egypt was named the best team in Africa in 2017.

Cuper led the Egyptian national team to the 2018 World Cup after an absence for 28 years.

He also led the Egyptian team to the 2017 CAF Cup of Nations' final for the first time since 2010.

Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club won the CAF Best Club of the year as they achieved CAF Champions League title after they beat Al Ahly in the final.
