CAIRO – 3 January 2018: Atlético Madrid’s Argentinean attacker, Luciano Vietto, could support the attack of Valencia in this winter transfer market, according to Radio Valencia SER.

Previously, Atlético Madrid had an agreement with Sporting de Portugal to sign Vietto because his contract ends next June.

But the player, after becoming aware of the interest of Valencia, has put his departure to the Portuguese team on hold and instead is waiting to see if he could continue playing in La Liga for Valencia.

Valencia intends to buy Vietto for around €15 million ($18 million) when the season ends. The Argentinean player prefers to remain in the Spanish League instead of moving to the Portuguese team.

Another factor to take into account is the presence of coach Marcelino García Toral. He used to train Vietto at Villarreal and therefore knows the player well, which is beneficial for Valencia.

Also, Vietto would join Everton attacker Sandro Ramírez, who was in La Liga in the ranks of Malaga. Valencia is keen to reinforce their attacking line-up for the second round of the Spanish League.

Vietto, who initially played in the Argentinean academy of Estudiantes (Argentinean club), which later transferred him to Racing de Avellaneda, arrived in Spain in 2014 after being signed by Villarreal, where he scored 20 goals and provided 8 assists in 48 games.
