We have the most to lose in World Cup: Löw

Mon, Jan. 1, 2018
CAIRO – 1 January 2018: Germany’s coach, Joachim Löw, stressed that winning the World Cup title again, after achieving it in Brazil in 2014, at the next 2018 World Cup in Russia would be a new dimension for his country.

But he assured that the German team will need to "deploy superhuman forces to achieve it, because Germany is going to be like an enemy to all the countries in the World Cup."

"We are the team that has the most to lose," he told Bavarian public radio, "but in the next few months we have to develop an immense hunger for the title."

The German coach hopes that the goalkeeper and captain of the Mannschaft, Manuel Neuer, will get back in full form, and he also hopes to have Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus, who has been separated from the national team for his various injuries.

Germany will begin its journey to defend the World Cup title next June 17 against Mexico. The game will be played in Luzhniki Stadium in the Russian capital, Moscow.

Then, on June 23, Germany will face Sweden in the city of Sochi to close the first phase on Wednesday, June 27 against South Korea in Kazan.
