Al-Ahly to participate at Dubai Basketball Tournament

CAIRO – 1 January 2018: Al-Ahly SC board accepted an offer to participate at the 30th edition of the Dubai International Basketball Tournament between January 17 and 25, after discussions with Al-Ahly basketball team manager, Tarek Khairy.

“It is a great opportunity for our players to improve as they will play against big teams at the tournament. We will have the opportunity to face great clubs and national teams. This participation will benefit the team in many ways,” Khairy told Al-Ahly official website on Monday.

The Egyptian national team participated in the last edition of the tournament and failed to reach the semi-finals; they ended the tournament in fifth position.

Morocco’s AS Sale won the title last year, defeating Lebanon’s Al-Riyadi at the finals.

Al-Ahly players are preparing for the Egyptian League finals against Al-Jazira. Al-Ahly qualified to the finals after defeating Sporting in the semi-finals on Saturday.
