CAIRO – 29 December 2017: Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida announced on Thursday that the Egyptian national team will face Greece instead of Bulgaria, according to Filgoal website.

“Greece has officially agreed to face Egypt,” Abo Rida said to Filgoal website.
“The clash will be held on March 27 after Portugal`s match,” he continued.
Egypt will face Portugal on March 23 and Greece on March 27.

Ehab Lehita, the Egyptian National Team director, revealed that both games will be held in Zurich, Switzerland.

Lehita also confirmed that the Egyptian camp will be in Grozny, Chechen Republic, and Russia.

Egypt was placed in Group A with Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. The EFA has been arranging friendly games to prepare the Pharaohs for the 2018 World Cup.

Egypt faced Portugal twice before, whereby Portugal defeated Egypt 4-0 for the first time on December 24, 1955 and the second time was on August 17, 2005 with a 2-0 victory. Both games were international friendly ones.

Egypt qualified to the 2018 World Cup after defeating Congo 2-1 on Sunday, October 8 at Borg El Arab Stadium.
