CAIRO – 26 December 2017: Karam Kurdi, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association, revealed a strange situation that happened to him and his wife at Liverpool Airport in England.

Kurdi travelled to England to attend the Premier League match between Liverpool and Everton, which ended 1-1 in round 16 of the Premier League.

“When I visited Mohamed Salah in Liverpool, I noticed that he is so popular there among the fans,” Kurdi said in an interview with DMC channel.

“When I left Liverpool Airport, there was a determination from the security to search my wife and have her take off her veil, and when the security officer knew that we had a relationship with Mohamed Salah, he apologized to us a lot," Kurdi continued.

As for Real Madrid’s interest in buying the Egyptian star, Kurdi said, "I felt from Salah`s words to me that he is happy to be in Liverpool; it is a city that loves football, and is one of England's oldest clubs."

Salah achieved many records this season with the Egyptian national football team and his club Liverpool FC. The talented, fast winger helped the Egyptian national team qualify for the World Cup next summer in Russia, after 28 years of absence.

Salah had an amazing season with Liverpool, scoring 21 goals for his team, including 15 goals in the Premier League, which made him the league’s top goal scorer.

Salah has been awarded with the EA Sports Player of the Month award for November.
