CAIRO – 26 December 2017: Many people have been talking these days about the top scorer of the calendar year 2017. Barcelona’s Lionel Messi led the ranks with 54 goals until the "Boxing Day" of the English Premier League, which began Tuesday, when the British striker of Tottenham Hotspur Harry Kane has surpassed the Argentinean winger.

Harry Kane, widely known as "HurriKane", ended 2017 as top scorer. Kane led his team to thrash Southampton 5-2 in the 20th round of the English Premier League.

He has scored six goals in the last two games (hat trick at Burnley and another hat trick at Southampton) and has come at the top of this prestigious list with 56 goals, two more than Leo.

Not only did Kane finish 2017 as the best scorer in the world, but he also surpassed Alan Shearer as the Premier League's top scorer in a calendar year (36 from Newcastle's former striker against 39 from the current Tottenham striker).

The English striker is considered one of the most valuable players in Tottenham history as he was the top scorer of the Premier League in the previous two editions. Despite HurriKane indicated that he would like to end his career in Tottenham, the high price tag that he recently achieved in the market has led Real Madrid to be extremely interested in him.
