CAIRO – 21 December 2017: Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is ready to sign three great players during the transfer market this summer, the Daily Star newspaper reported on Thursday.

Guardiola is looking to strengthen Manchester City next season in order to keep up the pace this season.

The English newspaper reported on its official website that Manchester City gave Spain's Pep Guardiola £160 million ($214 million) to buy players next summer.

Guardiola wanted to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, Sergio Busquets from Barcelona and Virgil van Dijk from Southampton, the newspaper reported.

Manchester City is on top of the Premier League, 11 points ahead of second-placed Manchester United.

Guardiola has accumulated 16 consecutive wins in the Premier League, which surpasses Arsenal's 2002 record.

The coach has earned the respect and admiration of everyone in the Premier League after breaking the record in England by achieving 16 consecutive victories with Manchester City.
