CAIRO – 21 December 2017: FIFA posted through its official website the list of countries with the highest demand for tickets to attend the 2018 World Cup matches.

Over 2.3 million ticket applications have been received during sales phase two, which started on December 5, with Russian fans on top of the list.

A total of 742,760 tickets were allocated during sales phase one.

Russian fans are followed by the fans from Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, America, Spain, Germany, Egypt and China.

The current phase, which is called random selection of ticketing, runs until January 31, 2018.

If the ticket application requests are more than the number offered by FIFA, the football association will resort to the lottery for distribution.

Egypt will play in the World Cup against Uruguay on June 15, Russia on June 19 and finally Saudi Arabia on June 25.

The coaching staff of the Pharaohs, led by Hector Cuper, decided to set up the training camp of the national team in Grozny, Russia before and during the World Cup.

Egypt returns to the World Cup after 28 years of absence.
