CAIRO – 20 December 2017: Arsenal English midfielder, Jack Wilshere, revealed on Wednesday that he wants to extend his contract with his childhood club, Arsenal.

“I definitely want to be here, I'm enjoying my football and I love playing in the Premier League now and I want to help Arsenal get to where they should be,” Wilshere told Skysports ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Liverpool at the Premier League on Friday night.

Wilshere, 25, is a die-hard Arsenal fan. He joined the club when he was nine and was promoted through the club rankings until he joined the first team at 16.

Wilshere, who suffered many injuries through his career, started to earn a regular place at Arsenal’s squad. “The biggest thing for any footballer, and even more so for me because of the games missed in the past, is that you are playing. I think I've proved to myself that I can play in the Premier League and I trust my body again and that I can affect games.”

Wilshere played for Arsenal in the last three Premier League games against Southampton, West Ham and Newcastle United and he was one of the best players on pitch in both games.

Wilshere spoke his ambitions with the club this season saying; “I'm in a good place mentally at the minute. I want to continue improving my form, affecting the team and helping to get into the top four and challenge for trophies."
