CAIRO – 18 December 2017: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has just announced at a press conference in the Ghanaian city of Accra the final list of the 2017 Best of the Year awards and is due to announce its final results on January 4.

CAF Player of the Year:

The shortlist for the African Player of the Year award included the name of Egyptian player Mohamed Salah, as well as Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

CAF Coach of the Year:

Egypt’s national team coach Hector Cuper, Morocco’s Wydad coach Hussein Amotta and Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr were among the final shortlist for this award.

African National Team of the Year:

Egypt entered the final list next to Cameroon and Nigeria. Egypt had managed to qualify for the World Cup after a 28-year absence, although they lost the final of the African Cup of Nations against Cameroon.

The Nigerian team is the first African team to qualify to the World Cup, despite their group was with Cameroon and Algeria.

African Inter-Club Team of the Year:

Al-Ahly is on the list next to Moroccan Wydad and Congolese Mazembe.

Al-Ahly lost the African Champions League final against Morocco's Wydad Club, while Mazembe won the African Confederation title.
