CAIRO - 18 December 2017: France’s national women's handball team won its second IHF Women’s World Championship after beating Norway 23-21 in the final of the tournament held in Germany from December 1-17.

The match saw fierce competition between the two sides, which was notable by the result of the first half with the superiority of France by a single goal (11-10) over the World Champions Norway. The second half continued with the same performance of the the two teams, but the French defense made a great role to strengthen France’s lead, which resulted in crowining the French team with their second world title in history.

With this result, the French women’s handball team went back to the podium at the World Championships after 14 years of absence, when they won their first title in the 2003 edition of the championship that took place in Croatia.
