CAIRO – 16 December 2017: Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, believes that his unbeaten record with his team will come to an end this season and they will not be able to replicate Arsenal’s 2004 achievement and finish the league without a single loss.

“That is not going to happen, that record belongs to Arsene Wenger and his amazing Arsenal in 2004. We are going to lose games, what is happening now is the exception and we would like to send a message that it is an exception, that it is not normal what we have done,” Guardiola told press on Friday.

In 2004, Arsenal won the Premier League after they won 26 games and ended 12 games with a draw. The only team to win the Premier League title without losing a single game.

Guardiola led his team to surpass Arsenal’s record of 14 consecutive league victories after they defeated Swansea City 4-0 on Wednesday.

Gaurdiola picked up 49 points of 51 after 17 fixtures. They only lost two points this season in a 1-1 draw against Everton on August 21.
