CAIRO – 13 December 2017: Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic described Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as an immature person. The player worked with Guardiola for one year at Barcelona before he decided to leave.

“The first six months were perfect. Then the manager changed system and tactics, and it didn't work for me. I went to talk to him. I'm here to talk; if you think it's for another reason, then we can't talk,” Ibrahimovic recalled of his time with Pep at Barcelona.

Ibrahimovic met with Guardiola on Sunday in the Manchester derby, when Guardiola’s team defeated Ibrahimovic’s team 2-1 in the Premier League.

Ibrahimovic continued, “I go into a room and he walks out of it. He was not a bad person, but the most immature I've had, because a man solves his problems."

Ibrahimovic believed that Lionel Messi was the most important player to Pep, and this fact affected Ibrahimovic’s situation at Barcelona.

Ibrahimovic said, “I said, 'I believe that you are sacrificing some players for one player: Messi'.”

Ibrahimovic, who had a great first six months with Barcelona, left the club after only one year to join AC Milan.
