CAIRO – 13 December 2017: Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta revealed on Wednesday that he does not want to see his former teammate, Neymar Jr Da Silva, wearing the Real Madrid jersey.

“Yes, it would bother me, because he's a decisive player. This would strengthen our fiercest rival significantly. In football, anything can happen; we've seen impossible situations become reality,” Iniesta told press.

Iniesta shared Barcelona’s left flank with Neymar between 2013 and 2017, before the latter decided to leave the club last summer to join Paris Saint Germain. Rumors linked Neymar with Real Madrid in the last few weeks.

Iniesta also revealed his desire to keep Argentinean defender Javier Mascherano in the club, saying, “I would like Javier to stay here; he's a very important figure in the group. We'll see what happens. Both sides are working on an outcome that won't hurt the club."

Mascherano has revealed many times that he wants to leave the club in January. However, Iniesta hopes to convince him to stay with the club till the end of the season at least, to help Barcelona in this season’s challenges.
