Emery trusts his team’s ability to defeat Real Madrid

CAIRO – 12 December 2017 : Paris Saint Germain (PSG) manager, Unai Emery believes that they have to defeat the reigning champions, Real Madrid if they want to win the Champions League title.

“If you want to win the Champions League, then you have to face Real Madrid. We have the required level to play against Real Madrid," Emery commented on Champions League round of 16 draw on Monday.

PSG will travel to Madrid to play the first leg on February 14 at Madrid’s castle, Santiago Bernabéu before hosting Real Madrid in the second leg at Parc des princes in Paris on March 6.

Emery believes that this game will be widely followed by football fans, he said “This match will be the centre of the footballing world."

Emery depends on a destructive attacking line of Neymar Jr Da Silva, Kylian Mbappe, Julian Draxler and Edinson Cavani to break the Spanish defense; while Real Madrid have the experience, passion and FIFA player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo to defeat their French opponent.

Emery highlighted what his team needs to win the clash, he said “We have a lot of talent but to beat Madrid, we will have to play with personality."
