CAIRO – 5 December 2017: Chelsea is set to face Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday in the last round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Atletico Madrid needs to win the expected clash, with one other condition – that Qarabag does not lose against AS Roma – to qualify to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

When the draw of the Champions League was held at the end of August, the opinion was unanimous. In group C, Qarabag was the “sheep” of the group, while Chelsea, Roma and Atletico would play the two places that give access to the knockout stage. And so it has been, but the “sheep” has played a trick on Atletico.

Qarabag from Azerbaijan has only two points, just the ones they have won in their two clashes against Atletico Madrid, two fateful draws that have left Diego Simeone's side on the verge of elimination.

Atletico Madrid is in third place with six points, Roma is in second place with eight points and Chelsea leads with 10 points. Atletico Madrid needs to make an unexpected outstanding match due to their bad results this season in both the Spanish League and the UEFA Champions League.
