CAIRO – 2 December 2017: Al Jazira fans depend on their veteran players, Sardor Rashidov, Mbark Boussoufa and Ali Mabkhout in their journey at the 2017 FIFA Club World Cup, which is held in the United Arab Emirates.

Al Jazira participates in the competition for the first time as the winner of the 2017 UAE Pro League. They will represent the Arab nation alongside Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca.

“It is a great feeling to play against the biggest teams in the world. It is a great opportunity for this generation of players and Emirati football,” Al Jazira Dutch manager, Henk ten Cate, told the press on Saturday.

Al Jazira flies to Al Ain to start preparations for their first game in the tournament against Auckland City at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on December 6.

Henk added; “We have to do our best to show the real image of the Emirati football. We need good results in the first game; we need to start strong.”

The UAE is set to host FIFA Club World Cup from December 6 to 16, 2017.
