CAIRO – 27 November 2017: Barcelona's Ousmane Dembélé said in a statement to French TV channel Canal+ that he will be joining the team’s training in two weeks.

“In two weeks, I’ll start working with the squad again. Has my care program accelerated my recovery? Yeah, I’d say so. I’ve worked every day – even holidays and every Sunday to regain my fitness,” the 20-year-old told Canal+.

Dembélé is the most expensive player in Barcelona’s history, after the club signed a transfer agreement with Borussia Dortmund for €105 million ($125 million) last summer.

He played only three games before suffering from a severe thigh muscle injury last September against Getafe, keeping him off the pitch for four months. Press reports say that Dembélé’s lack of preparation is the cause of his injury.

Canal+ said that Dembélé is likely to participate in El Clásico against Real Madrid on December 23, 2017.
