CAIRO – 26 November 2017: Italy's Premium Sport Network described Saudi Arabia’s offer to Carlo Ancelotti to lead the national team to the 2018 World Cup as “unrejectable.”

According to the FIFA ranking, announced last October, Saudi Arabia is the lowest-ranked team among the 32 countries participating in the World Cup.

Even after the dismissal of Dutchman Bert van Marwijk, things did not go well with Argentine Edgardo Bauza; he was also sacked. The position of head coach of the green has become vacant.

Ancelotti is also on vacation after being sacked from Bayern Munich.

Although he is a prominent candidate for the Italian team after the disaster of the absence in the last World Cup, he may lead Nasser al-Shamrani and his teammates to the World Cup.

The loss of Saudi Arabia’s friendly game against Portugal 3-0, and against Bulgaria with a goal difference angered the football federation's Board of Director, leading them to sack Bauza after only the third match with the team.

Saudi Arabia, which has not qualified to the World Cup in 12 years, has joined the teams heading to Russia 2018, and is adamant on taking Ancelotti on board. However, according to various sources, Ancelotti is set to reject the offer to lead the Green team.
