CAIRO – 26 November 2017: Sevilla manager Eduardo Berizzo thanked Sevilla club for their support to him after he was diagnosed with Prostatic cancer.

“I would like to thank all the kind messages I have been given, from Balaidos on Friday, people that I know, that I don't know, Sevilla, the president and the players,” Berizzo told press on Saturday.

Berizzo prepares with his team to face Villareal in the Spanish League on Sunday. Sevilla places fifth in the table with 22 points, a point in front of Villareal.

Berizzo revealed his feelings in this difficult situation, saying, “I feel fine. I understand that I need to pay attention to this. I never think about myself and a lot less in this situation. I will follow what the doctors say and do what I have to do.”

Sevilla announced on Wednesday their manager’s illness after a dramatic 3-3 draw against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Berizzo started managing Sevilla in 2017 after three successful years with Celta Vigo.
