CAIRO – 25 November 2017: Finally, Messi renewed on Saturday his contract with FC Barcelona until 2021. He took the official photo of the renewal with Barcelona`s president, Josep Maria Bartomeu.

"FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi signed on Saturday morning a new contract that will keep the Argentine superstar at the club through the 2020/21 season," said a statement from Barca. They posted a picture of Messi signing the deal alongside Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu, according to Reuters.

Messi signed until June 30, 2021, at which time the “No. 10” will be 34-years-old. Messi`s release clause will be at least €700 million.

This release clause makes Messi`s signing an impossible mission for Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City and other major economic powers of the European Continent.

Messi leads the scoring charts in La Liga with 12 goals and on Friday picked up the 2017 European Sports Media Golden Shoe for being the top scorer in a domestic league last season with 37 goals, according to Reuters.

Lionel Messi is currently the best player in the world, and for some others he is the best player in the history of football. No one can deny his influence on the world of football. Messi made his debut 4,788 days ago, played 602 games, scored 523 goals, and won 30 trophies, and the story continues.
