CAIRO – 22 November 2017: Napoli’s Italian winger, Lorenzo Insigne, was happy after their 3-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League.

"We went out there full of belief. From the very start, we were convinced we could win it and that's what we did in the end," Insigne told the club’s official website on Wednesday.

Insigne opened the scoring for Napoli in the second half with an amazing strike. Piotr Zielinski and Dries Mertens each netted themselves a goal to secure Napoli’s victory.

Napoli is currently third in the group with six points, three points behind Shakhtar Donetsk. Napoli needs to win their last match, away against Feyenoord, and for Shakhtar to lose against Manchester City at home to advance to the round of 16.

Insigne spoke about the team’s position in the group, saying, “We've shown we're good enough to be here, but likewise we know it's not only up to us anymore. We'll try to win in Rotterdam and then we'll see what happens between Man City and Shakhtar.”

Napoli qualified to the Champions League round of 16 last year but lost to Real Madrid, who went on to win the title.
