CAIRO – 21 November 2017: FIFA announced on its official website Monday the high-profile draw assistants who will be helping on December 1.

Laurent Blanc, Gordon Banks, Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Diego Forlan, Diego Maradona and Carles Puyol will be the footballing royalty, assisting draw conductor Gary Lineker, who will also be supported by Maria Komandnaya, in the draw ceremony held in Moscow’s State Kremlin Palace, according to FIFA official website.

Assistants will represent the eight countries that have already won the FIFA World Cup. It is also worth mentioning that the Russian football legend Nikita Simonyan announced his attendance in early November.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino said that “The Final Draw is an exciting moment for all of us, football fans, for obvious reasons. And it is also a magical moment because it allows us to look ahead to the big emotions that await us during the World Cup, while shedding light on those who have made history.”

Millions of Egyptians await December 1 to watch the much anticipated World Cup draw, where they will finally get to see their national team playing in the most important sports event on the planet after 28 years of absence.
