CAIRO – 20 November 2017: Al-Ahly achieved an important 2-0 victory over Ismaily on Monday at Borg El Arab Stadium in the Egyptian League.

Al-Ahly manager Hossam el-Badry was forced to start the game with an emergency line-up, as Al-Ahly missed many players due to injuries. Al-Ahly used their left back, Ayman Ashraf, as a defender alongside Saad Samir.

Ismaily started the game well and created many chances through their Colombian striker, Diego Calderón, and Ibrahim Hassan, but Al-Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawi saved all of Ismaily’s chances, ending the first half 0-0.

In the second half, Ismaily dominated the first 15 minutes before Al-Ahly players created many chances to open the scoring. Amr El Solia succeeded in scoring Al-Ahly’s first goal in the 74th minute.

Abdallah El Said scored the second goal for Al-Ahly eight minutes later to secure a comfortable victory for Al-Ahly.

This is Ismaily’s first loss this season. They stayed on top of the table with 20 points after 9 games, while Al-Ahly reached 13 points from five games.
