CAIRO – 20 November 2017: International Spanish striker David Villa revealed on Monday his happiness with the form of his former club, Valencia, in the Spanish League.

“As a Valencia fan, I am very happy with the spell the club is in. It's really all that the club and its fans deserve after such a long time away,” Villa told Marca.

Villa, 35, wore the Valencia shirt from 2005 to 2010. He formed a great partnership on Valencia’s attacking line with David Silva and Juan Mata.

Valencia places second in the Spanish League with 30 points, four points behind the leaders, Barcelona. They won nine games, ended three games with a draw and never lost a game this season.

Villa praised current Valencia manager Marcelino García. He said, “I am very happy for Marcelino, who is the protagonist behind all of the good things happening in Valencia right now."

Villa is Valencia’s fifth all-time goal scorer in La Liga, having scored 127 goals, according to Transfermarkt.com.
