Mazembe defeats Super Sport in CAF Confederation Cup final

CAIRO – 19 November 2017: Super Sport United has lost the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup final against TP Mazembe 2-1 in Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In the 18th minute, Adama Traore scored the first goal for Mazembe. But in the second half, Sipho Mbule smashed in a stunning long-range shot to announce the equalizer in the 47th minute.

Mazembe scoured the second goal in the 67th minute when Daniel Adjel shot the ball from outside the penalty area.

The second leg will be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa on November 25.

Al-Ahly is the only Egyptian team that won the CAF Confederation Cup – in 2014.

Al-Ahly qualified for the CAF Champions League final, losing the title to Wydad Casablanca, but Al-Ahly remains the African club to win the most CAF Champions League titles, a total of eight times.
