CAIRO – 18 November 2017 : Zamalek defeated Al Nasr 2-1 in the Egyptian League to achieve another three points in their league campaign.

Zamalek entered the game with their main goalkeeper, Ahmed El Shenawi, after he recovered from a serious injury. Zamalek manager Nebojša Jovović depended on a massive attacking line of Kabongo Kasongo, Ahmed Dawod and Abdallah Gomaa.

Zamalek created many chances to open the score and they succeeded to score the first goal through Kasongo, but the referee disallowed it. Zamalek opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Mahmoud Alaa to end the first half 1-0.

In the second half, the referee disallowed another goal for Kasongo, as the ball was already out of the pitch before he got it.

Mohamed Ashraf scored the second goal for Zamalek in the 51st minute through a penalty, after Ahmed Madbouli got tackled inside Al Nasr’s area.

Al Nasr succeeded to score their only goal in the game minutes before the final whistle through Hagag Aweis, after Zamalek’s defense failed to clear the ball out of their area.

Zamalek reached 18 points after the victory to be second place in the league, while Al Nasr remained with four points and in the 17th position.
