CAIRO – 16 November 2017 : Real Madrid’s French striker, Karim Benzema, recalled one of his best moments with the club against Atletico Madrid at their old stadium, Vicente Calderon, ahead of their game on Saturday, November 18.

"It was a very beautiful move; one you don't see every day. I had to be so sure of myself to try that," Benzema told CANAL + on Wednesday.

Benzema passed from three Atletico Madrid defenders and gave the ball to his teammate Francisco Alarcon, known as Isco, who scored Madrid’s only goal in the Madrid Derby at the 2017 UEFA Champions League second leg.

This goal saved Real Madrid from a dramatic comeback as they defeated Atletico 3-0 in the first leg and found themselves losing 2-0 in the first half before Isco scored Madrid’s goal.

Benzema explained the goal, saying, "I didn't really think about it. I took the ball and just had the idea to keep going. It was nice. I think it came from a mixture of talent and confidence."

Real Madrid faces Atletico Madrid on Saturday in the Spanish League.
