CAIRO – 10 November 2017: Barcelona’s Spanish left-back, Jordi Alba, revealed that he feels more comfortable on the pitch after the Brazilian winger, Neymar Jr Da Silva left the team last summer to join France’s Paris Saint-Germain.

“I now have more space to run into and, sincerely, it is much better for me [without Neymar]," Alba told Mundo Deportivo on Friday.

Alba explained how Neymar’s departure impacted him; stating, “I've recovered my confidence. Now I have the whole flank and that's brilliant for me. I feel comfortable, I have a lot of energy and that's being shown on the pitch."

Neymar shared Barcelona’s left flank with Andres Iniesta and Alba for four years. They participated in achieving two Spanish League titles, three Spanish Cup titles and the 2015 UEFA Champions League.

Alba, despite his happiness on the pitch without Neymar, looks to him as a great player. “He is a great player, who decided to leave because of his circumstances, feelings or thoughts,” Alba stated.
