CAIRO – 4November 2017 : Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola revealed on Friday his admiration for Arsenal’s German star, Mesut Özil, ahead of Manchester City clash against Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League.

“It's good for the Premier League to have players of this talent. Hopefully he can play a bad, bad game against us," Guardiola told press on Friday.

Guardiola supported Özil against the media criticism, stating, “I don't have any doubts about his quality. It is normal for critics when the team loses, so I admire him a lot. Maybe his body language doesn't help him too much, but sometimes the body language can confuse the critics.”

Guardiola recalled his memories with Özil when Guardiola coached Barcelona and Özil was a player for Real Madrid. He said, “I enjoy him and I have suffered from him as well when losing to Real Madrid.”

Manchester City tops the Premier League table with 28 points after nine wins and a draw. They are five points ahead of the second-place team, Manchester United.
