CAIRO – 1 November 2017: Didier Deschamps, 49, renewed his contract as coach of France until the end of the European Championship in 2020, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), Noel Le Graet, announced on Tuesday at a press conference.

"Didier is in my opinion the best. The entire executive committee of the FFF supports this renewal," said Le Graet from the headquarters of the federation.

Deschamps has been managing the team since 2012, when he took over from Laurent Blanc. He has since led the team to the final of the Euro 2016 and the quarterfinal of the 2014 World Cup.

On Thursday Deschamps will reveal the starting lineup for the friendly matche against Wales on November 10 in Paris and for the game against Germany in Cologne four days later.

His previous contract renewal took place at the end of the UEFA Euro 2016, with a contract that was due to expire in 2018.
