CAIRO –28 October 2017-Wydad Casablanca came back from an early goal against Al-Ahly to leave matters even ahead of the CAF Champions League final second leg.

Al-Ahly scored the first goal of the match in the third minute; Momen Zakaria scored from outside the penalty box.

In the seventh minute, Al-Ahly’s Moroccan striker Walid Azarou missed putting the ball in the back of the net, effectively not punishing his country mates.

Achraf Bencharki was in position to head home a cross by Ounajem, making the result 1-1. Bencharki was injured and was replaced with Khadrouf.

The hosts started the second half strongly and missed two opportunities to score.
Hossam El Badry, Al-Ahly’s coach, decided to bring on Walid Soliman in the 63rd minute and Ahmed Hamoudi in the 78th, for Ajayi and Ramy Rabia, respectively.

But Walid Soliman in the 86th minute had to come off injured for Emad Meteb.

The 1-1 result leaves Wydad Casablanca favorites ahead of the second leg in Morocco.
