CAIRO –28 October 2017: The Zamalek handball team defeated Al-Ahly to qualify for the African Champions League final with a 26-21 win.

Al-Ahly qualified for the semi-final with a convincing 30-15 win over Kinshasa, while Zamalek beat FAP Yaounde 26-21.

The semi-final started off unsurprisingly even, which was reflected in the result, as it was 12-12 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Zamalek would take the initiative and eventually win the match 26-21, the same result with which they won the quarter-final.

Zamalek will be hoping to retain their title in the final, which will be played against Esperance and the hosts, Hammamet.

In last year’s final, Zamalek defeated Tunisian team Esperance and will be hoping that this is a good omen going into the next game. Al-Ahly also defeated Club Africain last year to win their fifth title.

The White Knights will go into tomorrow’s final hoping to win their 10th African Champions League title.
