CAIRO – 27 October 2017 – Egypt’s national volleyball team defeated Rwanda Thursday 3-0 in the quarter-final of the African Championship hosted by Egypt and scheduled to finish October 29.

The volleyball team, led by Brazilian coach Marcus Miranda, beat the Rwandan side 3-0 in the quarter-final of the African Championship, which is hosted by Egypt and will continue until October 29 at the covered halls complex of Cairo International Stadium.

The winner of the African Championship will qualify for the 2018 Volleyball World Cup.

The national team had qualified for the quarter-finals after beating Niger and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the preliminary round.

The squad list of the Pharaohs includes 14 players: Abdullah Abdul Salam, Hussam Youssef, Ahmed Salah, Ahmed Qutb, Abdel Halim Fahim, Hisham Yousri, Mohammed Adel, Mohammed Mohsen, Ahmed Said and Mustafa Ibrahim, Ahmed Hamada, Ahmed Galal, Ahmed Abdel Aal and Mohammed Ramadan.
