CAIRO – 13 October 2017: Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski revealed on Friday that he does not care about winning the Ballon d’ Or award.

"The Ballon d'Or is never my focus. The award isn't important to me,” Lewandowski told press on Friday.

Lewandowski added, “success at Bayern is more important, especially in the Champions League.” Lewandowski is one of the nominees for Ballon D’Or award this year.

Lewandowski, 29, spoke about Bayern Munich former coach, Carlo Ancelotti saying, “We played well throughout Carlo Ancelotti's first season and without my injury in the Champions League, we would have had a high chance of reaching the final.”

Lewandowski added, “If I had been at 100 percent against Real Madrid, I think we could have advanced to the semi-final and then, who knows, we could have won the Champions League.”

Lewandowski missed the 2017 UEFA Champions League quarter finals first leg against Real Madrid in Munich but he returned to play the second leg in Madrid and scored a goal in Bayern with a 2-4 loss.
