CAIRO – 12 October 2017: Arsenal head coach, Arsene Wenger, expressed his happiness over Egypt qualifying to the World Cup, and wished the team good luck through a video posted on Arsenal’s official Facebook page on Thursday morning.

“I know you have done something exceptional, you did not qualify for a long long time to the World Cup, this time you made it,” Wenger said to Egyptian fans.

Wenger also praised his Egyptian player Mohamed al -Nenny for his exceptional performance with the national team; saying that he contributed to booking Egypt’s seat in the upcoming World Cup, held in Russia and scheduled for June 14, 2018.

Egypt has joined the national teams that qualified to the World Cup earlier on Sunday, October 8, after the team defeated Congo 2-1 in Borg Al-Arab stadium through Mohamed Salah's goals. The victory shot Egypt straight to the World Cup, without them having to wait until the last round.
