CAIRO – 12 October 2017: Arsenal considers the sale of Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil during the next winter market as revealed on Thursday by Arsene Wenger, Arsenal`s coach, who admitted the difficulty of renewing the contract of both players which ends at the end of the 2017\2018 season.

Alexis, whose presence in Saturday's match against Watford is doubtful after his return from the World Cup qualifiers with the Chilean national team, has rejected the possibility of negotiating a new contract and stressed that his departure is considered a fact.

The Chilean striker has been linked several times to Manchester City, as he has been called by Pep Guardiola, and in recent weeks his interest in Paris Saint-Germain has also been speculated and encouraged by his friend and former teammate Neymar.

Wenger is aware of the departure of Alexis, so, for the moment, he hopes to keep Özil. "I understand that he wants to stay," said the coach about the German player; showing his confidence in signing a new contract that should be agreed on before the end of the year.

"We do not have a date set to decide," replied the coach when asked about the time limit the club will allow the two players before putting them on the market. But, at the same time, he did not deny that this situation could happen.
