Emery: We are the favorites

CAIRO – 28 September 2017: Unai Emery, Paris Saint-Germain’s manager, is delighted with the performance of his team. After crushing Bayern Munich with three goals, the performance of PSG attackers, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Edinson Cavani in the match led Emery to say, “We`re the favorites.”

Paris hosted Bayern Munich at The Parc des Princes in the Champions League, they thrashed the German team by three goals and they could have scored more. Emery talked happily at the press conference after the match.

“With the three points, we are the favorites of the group, even if Celtic won too,” said Emery in a press conference. “The goal was to win here, it was important for the supporters who have taken advantage of this victory against a top-level team, who has shown us the path to progress,” he added.

Another reason for the coach of Paris’ satisfaction is the way Paris has finally managed to win a game in the role of counter-attacker. “It was evidence of adaptation, because normally we control the ball, but, today, the opponent has defended high against us,” assured Emery.

Kylian Mbappe who did not score in Bayern clash, was confident after the match that the best is yet to come. He spoke after the game to Canal+: "Expectations were high, which is normal after a summer transfer window like ours. It was a complete performance and now we move on to the next match on Saturday. We are here to win every game."
