CAIRO – 24 September 2017 : English defender, Kieran Gibbs will experience playing against Arsenal for the first time on Monday when his current club West Bromwich Albion faces his former club Arsenal in the Premier League.

Gibbs left Arsenal this summer to join West Browich Albion after the club signed the Bosnian left back Sead Kolašinac, which made his participation with the team unguaranteed.

Gibbs departure from Arsenal hurt Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger. Wenger told the press on Sunday “It was a difficult decision but on the other hand when a guy has given you so many years you have to accept that if he is not sure to play.”

Wenger praised Gibbs when he arrived in Arsenal, saying “when he arrived he was a left-winger. I transformed him into a full-back, I saw something in him that was very intelligent, with pace, that made me feel he could make it as a left-back.

Gibbs, born in London joined Arsenal when he was just 15. He got promoted in youth rankings until he joined the first team in 2007. Gibbs has been an Arsenal player ever since, save for a one-year loan to Norwich City in 2008.
