CAIRO – 24 September 2017: Real Madrid forward, Karim Benzema, reportedly escaped unharmed from a minor car accident on his way home on Friday, September 22.

According to Spanish sports daily, AS, the Frenchman's vehicle was seriously damaged when he hit another car while travelling in Madrid’s suburbs, but the player was not hurt.

The ambulance arrived to check both Benzema and the other driver, but they were not injured. The police also carried out alcohol tests, to make sure they were not driving under influence.

Real Madrid announced on Wednesday that they have reached an agreement with their French striker Karim Benzema to extend his contract with the club until 2021.

Benzema’s great performance with Lyon attracted Real Madrid’s attention. He joined the club in 2009 and was a great addition to the club, as he has scored 171 goals with the club.

Benzema won three Champions League titles in 2014, 2016 and 2017. He also won two La Liga titles in 2012 and 2017.
