CAIRO –24 September 2017: Egypt will host the U-23 African Nations Cup scheduled to be held in 2019. The tournament is also a qualifier for the upcoming Olympic Games (Tokyo 2020).

This came during the African Football Confederation’s meetings currently being held in Accra, the capital of Ghana.

The Egyptian Football Federation, headed by Engineer Hani Abu Reda, applied for Egypt to organize the tournament in May in coordination with Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdul Aziz, who announced Egypt's full readiness to organize the tournament.

Abdel Aziz doubled the award for the U-23 volleyball team on August 26. He was set to award each player LE 3,000 ($170) after the team was able to come in fifth place in the U-23 Volleyball World Cup that was held in Egypt. However, the minister decided to raise the prize to LE 6,000 in response to the great achievement of the players.
