CAIRO – 22 September 2017 : Football fans in Girona are ready to receive their friends from Catalonia Capital, Barcelona when both teams face each other on Saturday at Spanish League “ La Liga”.

Girona, located in the eastern part of Catalonia witnesses Barcelona biggest stars in an official game for the first time as the club experiences the Top division games for the first time this season.

Girona became the eighth Catalan team to play in the Spanish Top Division after FC Barcelona, RCD Espanyol, Gimnàstic de Tarragona, UE Lleida, CE Sabadell FC, CE Europa and CD Condal.

Girona started the season well with a 2-2 draw against the veterans, Atletico Madrid and a 1-0 victory over Malaga away.

However, Girona lost two games against Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla and their last game against Leganes ended with a 0-0 draw.

Girona midfielders, Marc Muniesa and Carles Planas will meet their former teammates as both players represented Barcelona B, both players played alongside Barcelona stars, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Deulofeu at Barcelona youth rankings.

It is good to mention that the game comes amidmajor political developments in Catalonia as the Catalan take further steps for independence from Spain.
