CAIRO – 21 September 2017: Zinedine Zidana, Real Madrid’s coach, stated that his team had many chances to score but failed.

Real Betis beat Real Madrid in the fifth round of LaLiga with a single goal at the deadly minute on Wednesday in Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid are now seven points behind Barcelona which will make Los Blancos race for the title very hard as the tough matches are yet to come.

Zidane appeared in the press conference after the match, and he said: "The way we see it, is that the ball just didn't want to go in [the net] today. We had 26 or 27 attempts and in the end, it hasn't gone in. That's football."

“We love playing at home. We created chances and we ran a lot. Maybe we didn't deserve to win it, but it hurts to concede a goal right at the end after the effort we put in. This is a long-run thing and the league has only just started, even if we are 7 points behind. We'll keep on with the work we're doing” he added on the seven points gap.

All of that meant Madrid failed to score after scoring in all of their previous 73 matches. Madrid missed the opportunity to surpass the record set by Pele's Santos side in the 1960s.
